Scale the right way

Not sure what systems you actually need in your solopreneur business?

By the end of this video, you'll know exactly what systems you need to implement in your business and why they are critical to your business success. For the best entrepreneurship strategy and systems advice, subscribe to my channel below and hit the bell to be notified when I post a video every Tuesday.

These are the exact systems I've built an all my clients' businesses, no matter what level they're currently at from brand new startups to eight plus figures of revenue annually, no matter what size the business, these systems are exactly the same.

The only difference is that they might get a little more complex as the business grows, but before I dive in, let me tell you that you do not want to miss system number six. It might surprise you, but it truly is the most important one out of all of them. Alright, let's dive in.

The first system is implementation, also known as delivery.

These are the systems you typically think of when you hear the word or phrase business systems. These are the technology automations and processes that work in the background to help you guide people seamlessly through the customer journey or experience from capturing a lead to making a sale to delivering the products that they purchased from you.

Within this system are tools like your email platform, you're e-commerce or payment platform, your CRM system, your online course platform, your project management tool, and anything that helps you deliver that experience that you want to deliver to your leads and customers.

Now I know you might be thinking that when someone says business systems to you that these were the only types of systems that came to mind and now I'm telling you that there's actually five more types of systems I know mind blown, but stay with me and I promise you we will get through this.

The second type of systems is your Growth systems.

These are the systems that help you grow your business. This includes your marketing strategy, your sales funnel, your product offerings, and how they all work together to bring in more revenue more efficiently to help your business grow. This type of system can also include team structure as in building your team to grow more quickly.

But since this video specifically for solopreneurs, I'm saving that for a different video. Well, all systems are critical for the success of your business. This one is especially so because without growth or revenue, your business is not going to survive very long.

The third type of system is Design systems.

It's important to make sure that you are building your business in a way that is aligned with you, the business owner, with how you run your business and how it impacts your life as a whole. For example, if you're an introvert, it's critical to make sure you aren't building a business that requires you to be actively networking and socializing over eight hours a day.

It's important to make sure you are aligned with what you’re building, who do you love working with? How do you want to help them? This might sound like a given and many entrepreneurs know these things intuitively, but it's also important to actively make decisions and document them around what type of business you want to build.

So you and everyone you work with are crystal clear as you move forward. It's important to have a system in place to nail down the destination that you're heading toward and assist them to reflect and adapt or reroute when your destination changes because believe me, comment below and tell me the most important thing that you are intentionally designing into your business as you scale. Is it your niche, how you serve them, specifically your work style, the people you work with. Tell me below.

The fourth type of system is Planning systems.

If design is all about deciding your destination, planning is all about figuring out how you're going to get there. Planning is a personal favorite system of mine because if done well, it can be your best friend and getting things done in your business and the most efficient way possible. It involves taking the what the design and figuring out the house step by step and on a timeline.

Without a plan, it's going to be really hard to get to your destination. Creating strategic and realistic roadmaps, revenue and financial planning and 90 day action plans are critical components of the system as is your project management process to make sure that you stay on time and within budget.

The fifth system is Measurement systems.

If you know where you're going and how you're going to get there, it's important to know exactly where you are on that journey and how much progress you've made. Following our car example, measurement is like the GPS that tells you how many minutes and miles to your destination. This system includes creating KPIs, setting smart goals, having access to the right data, analyzing it, and making optimizations or rerouting as you go.

Of all the systems I build for entrepreneurs, this one is usually the scariest for most of them because it's easy to dive into a data rabbit hole, but there are easy ways to ease into this system where you still get the value you need without spending hours just staring at numbers in an Excel spreadsheet.

Now, the sixth and final system is critical, especially for solopreneurs and entrepreneurs that want to truly scale their business and that's Leadership systems.

These are the systems that get and keep your mind in the game, thinking like a leader in your business, not just a Doer or an employee in your business.

This includes your personal development practice or morning rituals, learning new skills, removing limiting beliefs, expanding your upper limits and abundance mindset, vision, crafting, and so much more that help you embody that leadership role and make decisions from that place.

Without these systems to help you up your game, your business will stay stagnant. There is no question about that. So now you know the six types of systems you need to have in your business and why you need to have all of them, but which of these systems needs your attention the most?

I've created a guide to help give you more information on each of these systems, including a quick audit to help you determine which system is the most critical for you. Right now.
